Hi, my name is josephine amato. I was born in Carini in 1969. I have been there and still have family there. I am just beginning to create a family tree and was hoping to find records for past generations.
My tree includes the names Amato, Locricchio, and Galena. Hope to talk to you all soon.
Josephine

Welcome Josephine

I'm sure you'll find many ancestors in the resources at CariniExchange.

If you'd like to give us more information, we'd be happy to help. Jim has vital records from 1905 back thru the 1500's, all available for your use.

Just let us know.

Welcome Josephine! I see you are also in Massachusetts. I live just next to Springfield. We would all love to help you here, if you could give us some information to work with.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Hi, I am sorry i was not detailed in my last message. I didn't know so much info was available.

My father is named Salvatore Amato, he married Maria Amato in 1968.
My paternal grandparents were Vito Amato (born Jan. 1, 1914) and Giuseppa Locricchio (born Jan. 1, 1914, yes same date). They had the following children: Sebastiano, Pietro, Francesco, Francesca, Salvatore (my father), Angela and Giuseppe. My grandmothers parents were Francesca ?? and Sebastiano Locricchio.
My paternal Grandfather Vito Amato's parents were Pietro Amato and Angela ??.

My maternal grandparents were Rosa Galena and Andrea Amato. Andrea was hit by a train in the 1940s or 1950s. It is unknown whether suicide or homicide.

Thank you for any leads you might give. I do have relatives I can ask questions of. But they do not always like to speak of the past.
Josephine

Josephine, unfortunately the records we have end with 1905. Since you were born in Carini in 1969 your family came here long long after that.

What do you think Angelina? Can you think of a way to bring her lines back into the pre-1905 arena?

Josephine, could you possibly ask your family and get us a bit father back?

Thanks
Jim

We do show one possibility

In 1902 Pietro Amato married Angela Cucuzza. This couple had a son, Salvatore, who married Carmela Taormina in 1923.

That might work Cugina...

Pietro Amato md. 1902 Angela Cucuzza

and could have had Vito Amato (B.1914) who married Giuseppa LoCricchio.

What do you think Josephine?
