I WAS FORTUNATE TO STUMBLE UPON THIS SITE.
I am also very appreciative of all the hard work that was put in to it.
I was born in Carini in 1944, lived in Genova between 1946 and 1956.
Returned to Carini for two years and then migrated to the USA (Brooklyn)in April 1958.
I have had a successful life with two major careers. My first one led me to be the chief engineer of a major NBC TV station, the second one to be the owner of a very successful Fast food restaurant.
I have previously made an attempt to decipher the photocopies of the church records to no avail.
How was this team able to read the hand written data? I tried everything I knew without much success.
Again thanks the the whole team.
Roy . Very Happy

Hello and Welcome to The Forum Ray! We have a great team of Extractors here Especially Michel and Angelina who have extracted most of the Baptism and Marriage records you can find on the website here:

The church records can be tricky to read, I agree with you there, but the more you extract, the more familiar you become with the surnames/format and handwriting.

Sounds like you have had a very successful life since leaving Carini! We would love to hear stories or anything you care to share or remember about your childhood there.

And if we can help you research your families just ask. We also have a Sicilian Surname database I can add your surnames to in case others are working on your family. It is located here:

Hope to hear more from you soon.

Lucky guy, 2 successful careers. The american dream x 2.

Very Happy Angelina

P.S. My idea of fast food is Spaghetti with Garlic & Olive Oil, but I never turn down a White Castle Hamburger. Laughing
