Angelina,

Do you have any information on Antonino Lo Piccolo & Antonina Comercio of Terrasini? I have been unable to find their marriage record. Guessing from the children that I have found, I would think they were married in Terrasini around 1810. I have not been able to find their baptism or funeral records either, so I am unable to proceed father back in this line. Any help would be appreciated.

Their children are:
Name: Agatha Maria Gratia Lo Piccolo
Birth: January 04, 1812 in Terrasini, Palermo, Sicilia, Italy

Name: Gaspar Antoninus Philippus Lo Piccolo
Birth: March 29, 1815 in Terrasini, Palermo, Sicilia, Italy
Marriage: October 1842
Spouse: Maria Cralina

Name: Rosalia Lo Piccolo
Birth: March 30, 1818 in Terrasini, Palermo, Sicilia, Italy

Name: Joannes Philippus Lo Piccolo
Birth: January 10, 1821 in Terrasini, Palermo, Sicilia, Italy

Name: Filippo Lo Piccolo
Birth: 1827 in Terrasini, Palermo, Sicilia, Italy
Death: April 08, 1885 in Balestrate, Palermo, Sicilia, Italy
Marriage: October 10, 1848 in Terrasini, Palermo, Sicilia, Italy
Spouse: Grazia Leto

Thanks,
Bob

Thanks! I had been looking for this for a while. Now that you point it out, it looks obvious. My only excuse is that I likely overlooked the start of that book since it is in the middle of the film. I wish that Family Search separated the books rather than having books start in the middle of index entry.

Thanks again,
Bob

I'm trying to confirm Maria's last name. I think it's Ciolino but I see you have Cralina.

Would you take a look at this image and let me know what you think. (bottom right side)

This is where I derived my information. I have not been tracing other members of Maria's family, so did not have other references. Upon further scrutiny of just the marriage document by itself, I would say her last name was Cialino. However, I believe that you are correct with Ciolino. "a" and "o" are hard to distinguish, and it wouldn't be the first time I would have made a mistake between these letters.

One of the tools I use to confirm family names is the US phone whitepages. My thinking is that people today have inherited names from their ancestors, and although spellings of names may change over time, it is more common for the name to stay the same. There are 29 people in the US with the name Cialino, while there are 639 people with the name Ciolino. And there are 0 people named Cralina. So, Ciolino is most probable.

BTW, I have seen about an equal number of Comercio vs Camercio. The early Carini GEDCOM spelled this last name Comercio, so I went with that.

thanks Bob

Guess I'll stick with Ciolino unless I find something clearer.

I know what you mean about Comercio/Camercio. Could be worse...try Ciaramitaro...sheessssssshh......must be 40 differnt spellings for that one.
