I know two uncles served in WW1, although I don't know
if it was in the U. S. services or Italian. So I check Ancestry
this week and could not find them in the U. S. records.
Is there a site for me to check the Italian records?

Also - wouldn't it make sense that if you were living
in the NY area (Bronx) you would have enlisted in
the Bronx or Manhattan? Not NJ or CT?

Does anyone think that Ancestry's free look up for
Veterans Day didn't allow non-members full
access to their files? It seemed every uncle or
cousin I looked for wasn't in their records.
The only person I found was my grandfather -
and I was surprised to see the army listed an
incorrect year of birth and recorded his name as
"Joe" instead of "Joseph" or his birth name of
"Giuseppe".
