My grandfather Andrea Amato

He was born in Carini in the early 1900's and died in the 1940's. I was told he was a radical, fascist. His body was found on the train tracks. It is unknown whether it was a suicide or homicide. Wish I knew.

Can you give us the name of his parents? Did he come to the U.S.?

There is a baptismal record for an Andrea Amato dated 9/11/1903 - son of Clemente Amato and Concetta Romano. This Andrea came to the U.S., arriving on 9/3/1920 leaving his father in Carini. He went to meet his Uncle Croce Amato at 188 Union St. in Brooklyn.

Could this be your Andrea?
