I have Giuseppe Gelardo's parent's as Filippe Gelardo and Filipa Maranzano? Any proven record for them?

Parents of Giuseppe

Filippo Gerardi (Gelardo) (son of Francesco Gerardi and Magdalena Spina) married Susanna Mananzano (Daughter of (Francesco and Antonia Pistone) in Carini on 7/25/1870

I couldn't find a marriage for Francesco and Magdalena. He may have married in her town.

Yay! Last night, after I said I was going to bed, I got the Excel marriage sheet to open up and found the same record of Filippo and Susanna that you did. I think I'm getting a hang of this. Well, a start. You and Jim have made this so much easier to put together.
Is it worth paying for the Ancestry membership to search through the world records for birth/death certificates or can I find them for free through other sources? Thanks again! Sarah

I don't find much for myself on Ancestry so I don't subscribe, but you might just get all the names together and try the 14 day free trial first. you may get lucky, who knows. 14 days should give you a good idea whether to spend money at this time. You can sometimes find info free but it's hit and miss.

I would check my local library and see if they have a subscription. You would have to do the research at the library.

So I haven't had a chance to welcome you do the forum but I am so glad you were able to find so much information on your family with Angelinas help. Truly, the work that has gone into the Carini Exchange by James and Angelina and the others is amazing and seeing this makes it even more special.

I f you like, I have an ancestry memberships and can try to help you with a few lookups. Just provide me with specifics and I'll see what I can do.

Ancestry is great, but costly and sometimes its worth it, other times its not. I use it often for the forums so I only got it for this reasons. I exhausted using it for my family within the first few months.

Another place you may want to look is

You can view the records before deciding if you want to join. If you see something you might want or need, then its a 1.95 for one image or 8.00 for a months subscription. I have found a few pretty good things on it. Have a look and see.

Hi Angelina, I was looking through the Carini marriage records and found:

Francesco Gerardi (Son of Francesco and Magdalena Spina) married Serafina Pellerito (daugher of Antonino and Nunzia Carcioppola)

Could this be Filippo Gerardi's brother?

yes. you've got the hang of it now. Be careful, it could be never-ending. Once I figured out how to connect the family I ended up with over 17, 000 relatives and that's only on my father's side and I'm not done.

I think I'm related to anyone who even spit off the side of a ship sailing thru the Tyrannian Sea. LOL
