Hello, I would like information on how to obtain a birth certificate of my Grandfather his name was Lewis Di Marco and was born in Carmatta Italy (Sicily) thats what it says on his WW2 regerstration card on 10/21/1891 but on his WW1 Regerstration card his birth date reads 10/22/1890. On the 1910 U.S. Cencus it states he was staying in Jersey City New Jersey with a Brother-in-Law??? and I would like also to know who his brothers and sisters names were if possible so I could link them together on the cencus. I would guess that this information lies in Sicily. On his WW1 Regerstration card it reads (in short) if hes supporting anyone here and if anyone is under 12, and he stated yes Mother and Sister, so im guesing that his father died in Sicily. His fathers name was Salvatore Di Marco and his mothers name was Concetta Di Marco,This is what it reads off his Death Certificate. I lost a aunt in the beginning of this month, she's been failing in health for some time and she took alot of information with her that faimly has tryed to get from her but with very little luck, so now I find myself obligated to get this done, seeing how hard it is now I cant imagine the next generation finding this information,My father has always told me not to forget the dead and ive haven't, now that im finding more and more lost realatives within New Jersey and New York area its all being mapped out for the next generation, thats why I feel im obligated to get this done. Any information on how to go about this would greatly be appreciated and I would like to thank all now for there time. Im new on these sites and if I placed this post in the wrong place I appoligize.

Imwormer,

Maybe you could post the text or the records that you are talking about so we can have a look at them. It would make it easier for us to help you,

I am not surprised about the differences in birthdays. Our ancestors often lied about their ages and did not place as much importance on birth dates as we do today. All of my great grandmothers records have different dates on them.

Let us know.
