Military during WWI

Hi,
This is a photo of my husband's grandfather, he immigrated to the US in 1920. My mother in law has always had this photo but doesn't know anything about it. My husband did some research and thinks it's the uniform of the Bersiglieri. Does anyone know if that is correct?
