My family is from Castellammare del Golfo, Fortunatley both of my parents are from there as is my wifes parents. I've been there many times in the past, but never thought of researching. I'm fortunate in that my grandfather lived to 98 y.o., and gave me some leads. I would like to make a family tree as far back as possible to show our family history to my children and one day grandchildren. My grandfathers name was Giuseppe Sarcona,(fu) Onofrio. I know my greatgrandfather had a few brothers that came to America in the early 20 century. I remember my grandfather saying his grandfather (Probally Giuseppe) was some sort of big shot with the fishermen. He had some sort of title. Problem is, their a lot of Sarcona's in C/Mare, The town is a fishing and farming town, all the relatives I know about are on the farming side. My great Grandmother's name was Vincenza Cassara`, she was 95y.o. when she died.
