I am trying to find information about the death/murder of my grandfather. He was stabbed in the subway in Red Hook, Brooklyn around 1932. He worked on the Brooklyn docks, and his murder had something to do with an altercation with one of his co-workers, (so this is how the story has been told). I have also been told that the murder may have been Mafia related, or perhaps had something to do with the (unexplained) death of my grandfathers first wife. His murderer escaped back to Sicily, was tried and convicted there. When Mussolini came into power, he released ll the prisoners, and supposedly this man was released too.
My grandfathers name was Lorenzo DiMaria, he was born in Carini, April 16, 1877.
